for god's sake
Dec. 27th, 2010 06:10 pm Did ANOTHER horse I know have to die this season?
I never had a close relationship with Maribou, but I rode her a bunch of times at fair when she needed to be cooled down and the jousters couldn't be arsed. She's the one who taught me how valuable one's pinkies are when it comes to reining. She had a lotta years and a lotta mileage, and I know she got to spend her last years utterly loved and in the best of hands. My heart goes out to her humans, who had to say goodbye to her sister just last year. To paraphrase President Bartlet - the fields of Heaven are too crowded with unicorns tonight.
Gracie has been enjoying the snow, and I have managed it due largely to the kindness of two different neighbours, neither of whom wanted money. I still did enough that my back is VERY mad at me, and I expect to be broken tomorrow - and why do we always get snow dumped on us on shot day? I suppose it is convenient, since I would be taking painkillers anyway. So far mine are helping the shot pain but not the shovelling pain. Can't take more til bedtime. Thank god and Scott for this new iPad, she just loves it. I have found and downloaded a game she plays on the computer at school, and she's learned quickly how to manage the control of the thing. Oh, and there are the cramps. Did I mention I was due for my period as well? Joy. :P
Ah well. We did have fun throwing snowballs at the side of the house, and I made a snow angel for the first time since I was a kid, and showed Gracie how to slide down a hill on a flattened cardboard box. Her gym thing today was cancelled, but hopefully tomorrow's won't be, and then I will get some time to myself Wed, Thurs, and Fri morning. I should go to kickboxing (I got another stripe for my belt, could hardly keep from rolling my eyes when sensei gave it to me. I said "yay me, I showed up") and krav maga, been eating like a pig, though I daresay some calories got burnt today.
DR WHO XMAS CAROL - WOW. That is all.

DR WHO XMAS CAROL - WOW. That is all. This! It made me happy. And sad. And the Doctor jumping on wee Kazran's bed. And the fish. And Rory and Amy being all honeymoonish. Fezzes. Scarves. Want to watch again!
