I still hate Florida
Apr. 3rd, 2009 10:20 pmLife is better after a good night's sleep, yummy food and presents, but I just friggin hate Florida. Remind me to never again argue with a doctor who tells me humidity is bad for me. Florida hits me like the worst PMS you ever had. Ativan helps, as did the two Bellinis I had with dinner.
Gracie slept all night as did we all, though I had nightmares and the bed is uncomfy for me because I am a real princess, dammit. Met Dad etc for lunch and got presents -- Dad bought himself the new Kindle and so gave me his old one, complete with already-programmed credit card info so any book I download gets charged to him, and (drumroll) that bag I have been pining for for ages! I will try to put a picture of it up here so you can admire the fabulousness, but if I fail at that, there is a pic up on FB already. I want to show it to Shadow, but she will get approving horse-goobers all over it. Perfect size too, holds all my basic crap and is comfy. AMAZING.

Cuban raspberry duck for lunch, hippie organic pizza with crimini mushrooms and black olives for dinner.
My plan with the kindle is to make it be full of all my comfort books, so I can have them with me whenever I want, and bring them to camp without having to bring them. American Gods and other Neil stuff, The Hobbit, Hannibal (it's a comfort book. Don't judge me). I have already downloaded the Graveyard Book and Angels and Demons. I had brought Bellwether to read on this trip. I had forgot how happy that was. Yay books, even when they're not books.
Oh wow, husband went out on an errand and came back with roses and ice cream. Eases the pain of Florida. Yay sweet boy!
