the poor thing
Apr. 27th, 2009 10:41 pm By which I mean Castle. That poor show. As Dollhouse gets better, Castle just gets worse and worse. Even the soma couldn't make last week's better. Nathan Fillion owes me a massage for the hours I am spending watching this fei-oo.
Let's see, when we last left our heroes...Adventure Girl is still a terror, but such a cute terror. She loves to play with water, pouring it from container to container like it's chemistry, usually spilling it everywhere in the process. So since it has been so warm, I got inspired and brought her, a big pot of water, and some plastic cups out into the backyard, and she played with it out there to her heart's content. Now if we could only get her to stop eating dirt...tomorrow I will call her doctor and ask if there are iron supplements a kid her age can take, in case it is an iron thing that makes her do that and not just being almost four.
Had lovely unexpected visit Sunday from
4evernight , who Gracie glommed onto with unending adorableness. Friday was Horsie Day, finally. Slow trail ride through muddy fields, which was just what Shadow needed (though she of course disagreed and wanted to run) to loosen her up after a winter of not enough activity...she's not the kind of girl who will just romp around the field. But she has a date with a double whammy of wormer, and her kinks will soon be worked out. And of course she is lovely as ever and seemed very happy to see me.
Speaking of happy animal-ness, Gracie and I were taking a walk Saturday and we had an encounter with a big beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog named Bailey, who was willing to let both me and Gracie goosh her bunches and bunches. God I miss having a dog. Bugger is immortal and I am thrilled she is immortal, but I miss big dogs.
Lady Mondegreen is making a new video, this one having nothing to do with the ELE. Had an inspiration on how to do one of my existing songs, which I recorded today. It's glitchy and ghetto, but I like the way it mostly sounds and trying to be more of a perfectionist about it would get me stressed and then it would be less fun. Stress is for people who get paid because then it's worth it. I shot some basic stuff that didn't require makeup and will finish filming Wednesday when the kiddo is at school (hey
naneenoo , want to come sing for me then or Thurs around noon and do my makeup for me? I still have yet to experience one of your fabulous makeovers) and it isn't shot day. I started prep work this morning while Gracie was still home, which never really works without her making me nutty, but I got in one of those moods where if the sudden creative-ness didn't get its outlet, I would be even nuttier. Not having a regular venue anymore occasionally sucks.
I ate way way too much today, but I stopped on time, so that's something and maybe I won't wake up with chest pain from tummy badness again. Gracie shared my linguini with calamari (she ate the linguini, I ate the squid), which was cosy as well as helpful, making me eat fewer carbs.
Oh hey, anyone in flist-land who is a member of the facebook charity group, poke-poke-poke, 'kay? Thanks!
