I actually did, all things considered, largely due to the awesomeness of my mom, who felt strongly that we (the wee NY branch of the family) should have proper Thanksgiving with as much tradition as we decided we wanted. She brought over the bits of the turkey she knew I liked, sweet potatoes, homemade stuffing, plus salad we never wound up eating and three mini-pumpkins with cinnamon and butter which we also never wound up eating. I picked us up cupcakes from the local yummy bakery. Gracie, of her own volition, decided she wanted to watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (or Happy Thanksgiving Charlie Brown, whatever the fuck it's called), and we have been rotating that, the Great Pumpkin, and Monsters INC ever since.

There is a cosmic conspiracy of some kind trying to make me not get sleep -- probably karma for my sleeping too well last week. Last week Gracie slept in her own bed every night, not so this week, though not entirely her fault. Last night the gorram window in her room must have fallen out of its frame (not onto the bed, thank goodness, and not close enough to her her if it had) and disturbed her, PLUS some small flying thing got itself stuck behind a poster in my room and buzzed me out of a sound sleep, PLUS Bugger knocked over a plastic glass I hadn't noticed my mom had left on the coffee table. No damage, but no sleep either.

Took Gracie for her followup to see about her hickey, btw (that bite on her neck, we think it was a spider, but we don't know and don't care, just so it's going away). She has been very cuddly and mostly lovely, though occasionally she gets whiny and frustrated...I think it's the whole school vacation break in routine thing. Nevertheless, she is the queen of adorable.

Yay, Annette is here to visit! Later!
