The countdown continues...
Dec. 23rd, 2009 08:02 pm ...to the Christmas of Gracie Awesomeness.
Again, there are no words for the tear-soaked gratitude in my heart and appreciation for all the gifts that have come in for her (and a couple for me too!) from so many people, the unexpected, the faithful, the pennypinching, the overwhelmed...it's amazing. You're amazing. You know who you are, and so do I, and you are angels.
Today I went into school for Gracie's pre-break Christmas party. I'd been in before, but not this long -- I got to do some of the dances they like to boogie to, meet the two little boys she likes to beat up on, and the other one with whom she apparently has a very huggy and recently smoochy relationship. Now I know on whom to blame all her colds. During one of the songs, there is a saxophone solo and Gracie likes to pretend she has a horn to play it. Fabulous.
Speaking of colds, she has another one, just a wee bit -- but this one seems to be accompanied by a bit of a sour tummy. She was spitting up into a dish towel. I fed her crackers, ginger ale, and plain pasta, and it seems to be helping...at least, she is now inspired to get up and do the naked two-step on a sheet of bubble wrap. I guess one doesn't do that if one is feeling poorly.
Tonight when she goes to bed, I have a new pile of gifts to wrap and hide, and bring up the Christmas tree. Rob will be here some time to spend Christmas with us, and I am armed with ativan and fruity wine. Still working on getting to Avatar, now it looks like the 3:45 show on Monday, and a morning show of Nine on Tues with my mei-mei. Then Rob goes away again til Sunday, so if anyone has time/inclination to pay us a visit, invite yourself!
If I don't get to post again, happy Christmas. To all of you. You are blessed, and you are a blessing.
