aaaand my day was just made...
Mar. 27th, 2010 03:17 pm A man just knocked on my door, and when I answered it, he asked me if I knew if my mom or dad planned to do any re-siding of the house this spring.
Now, it could have been a line. Lord knows it's a good one. But the guy said he's 74, and I do have on Superman pyjama bottoms. In response to my statement of "oh you're cute, give me your card", he even got a bit defensive, protesting how young I looked and that he had been serious when he asked about my mom or dad.
I said I didn't care, that he had made my day regardless, and I took his card.
In other news, I am pleased to report that I am feeling decidedly less broken from kickboxing now that it is no longer shot day. It helped that my yoga class today consisted of a single adorable student with remarkable focus for a 5 year old, so I got to stretch myself.
I would also like to report that Gracie seems to have suddenly developed a thing for Krypto the Superdog (the cartoon). I bet that if someone drew a picture of Gracie with Superdog (or get Uncle Bob to do it, it's not like he reads this), it would score a big hit. Just saying. She has discovered Superdog in the form of a preview on a Charlie and Lola DVD, which is some British series I'd never heard of before Gracie was given 2 DVDs of it for her first birthday by someone who now hates me. She's never shown interest in them before now, though I figured she eventually would. I'm glad she has, even if it's just the preview. The show seems cute, actually, and it's nice to know that the donor of the DVDs did some lasting good in my life after all the mean things they have said and done about/to me since.
DayQuil is my friend. OH, and I am also pleased to report that Gracie does not appear to be allergic to peanuts. On the advice of her doctor's office, I was to give her a tiny bit and watch her closely with Benadryl at the ready (which seemed sort of insane to me, but it worked out). Her Easter basket from school included ONE small Reese's peanut butter egg. She ate it. I watched. No ill effects. I hadn't really expected any, but I guess it is official now. Whew, one less thing to worry about.
