at the risk of sounding insensitive
Apr. 20th, 2010 07:50 amI feel terrible for Phoebe Prince. I really do. It is awful what she went through, and those horrible kids who made her life miserable (and the teachers and parents who all let it happen) should all be hit with sticks.
That said.
Was it absolutely vital for Phoebe to hang herself all nice and publicly in the middle of the house so that her little sister could discover the body and is now probably going to be traumatised for years?
That's why I'm not retweeting the thing.
Also, I came home from school crying every day as the result of bullying. Nobody did shit no matter how much I begged. But I didn't kill myself, and Phoebe shouldn't have done either.
I hope she is happier now.
To reiterate, hit those kids etc with sticks. Hard. But nobody drives anyone to commit suicide. That's a thing between you and you, and if you can't think of another way out, well, it isn't fair to blame that on anyone else.
