EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Jul. 8th, 2010 02:36 amAll my Sweeney Envy has been taken care of - the cute boy who did the Liaisons fight with me last year also played Sweeney last year (best I've ever seen since Len Cariou, seriously), and at camp they have a thing called Review, where people from last year do highlights of things they did last year. His Mrs Lovett wasn't back, and it's not like I HADN'T done it at this camp before, so we rehearsed it twice and performed it with barely a hitch to huge laughs and a standing ovation. It's been so long since I have gotten to do something like that, to sink my teeth into my musical theatre roots in one of my favourite pieces with an absolutely smashing partner. I think he felt as giddy as I did after, though we both tried to keep it cool.
THEN right after Review, down we went to another theatre to do Dr Horrible Night (which I only found out about today), and our last year's Captain Hammer happened to be visiting so we squeezed him into my shirt again, a camper played Penny, and I sat there and sang along and loved life.
On my way home, I saw the longest and brightest shooting star I've ever seen. All I could think of to say to it was Thank You for a glorious night that I needed. It was a late night so I will pay extra attention to the kiddo tomorrow, but...god damn. I needed that. Lots and lots.
PS, the next day - I am still floating around on post-Sweeney clouds. Honestly, the hangover from this beats a lot of the post-coital time I've had. The plan is to go down to video at some point soon and steal the clip so I will get to share it with you...hopefully before the week is out. Purrrrrrrr.
